Country legends The Chicks announce huge outdoor Welsh gig

Country band The Chicks have announced an outdoor gig this summer in Cardiff. The the 13-time Grammy award-winning, multi-platinum-selling group's latest global tour will include a headline date at Cardiff Castle.

In support of their first album in 15 years, Gaslighter, The Chicks will play Cardiff on Tuesday, June 27. They are the biggest-selling U.S. female band of all time, selling more than 30.5 million albums and they are among an elite group of artists and the only female group to achieve multiple “diamond” selling (10 million copies) releases.

Presale sign up is now open for the Depot Live event here and you'll get all the information you need for ticket sale dates and prices. The tickets will go on sale at 10am on Friday, February 17 from Ticketmaster, here.

The Chicks said: “This last year on the road has been a whirlwind for us but it’s time to bring the party to the UK and Europe. We can’t wait to see everyone and play for all our fans across the pond – it’s been a long time coming, and we can’t wait to get back!”

The Chicks are Martie Maguire, Natalie Maines, and Emily Strayer who released their debut album, Wide Open Space in 1998, they dropped 'Dixie' from their original name back in 2020 after it had connotations pertaining to slavery. Supporting The Chicks is Maren Morris, a Grammy winner, who blends country with hip hop, pop and R&B.
