Count Binface responds to Farage after finishing second in Clacton by-election

Count Binface said that he is feeling “gratified” after he came second in the Clacton by-election.

Nigel Farage won with 22,239 votes, triggering the by-election after he resigned as an MP amid ongoing scrutiny of his financial affairs.

Speaking from Clacton on Friday (14 August), Count Binface, the satirical alter ego of comedian Jonathan David Harvey, expressed his happiness with the result.

Count Binface, who received 9,455 votes, said he attended the count “to get the verdict of the good people of Clacton”, which he said was the “least he could do”.

Mr Farage did not appear after he claimed that Essex Police informed him about a threat against him. The Independent understands that the force did not advise the Reform UK leader to stay away.
