A £318,000 settlement for a council employee who fell at a theatre tops the list of compensation payouts by Welsh local authorities, figures have shown.
Every year councils settle compensation claims submitted by employees and members of the public which can occasionally run into six-figure sums.
Payouts are only made when the claimant has suffered a loss, such as an injury, and the local authority is liable.
