Council worker jailed for faking her own death to try and avoid driving convictions

Southwark Crown Court

A woman has been jailed after she tried to fake her own death in order to get out of a driving conviction.

Zoe Bernard, 38, told police she was dead, and pretended to be her own sister when officers tried to follow up on a driving incident.

She even went to the extraordinary lengths of trying to obtain a death certificate for herself, a court heard today.
