A planned 4% increase in council tax has been backed by Nottinghamshire County Council's finance committee despite some criticism from opposition councillors.
The majority of the increase (3%) will be used to offset the increasing cost of adult social care and the rest is a 1% increase in the basic cost of council tax.
Previously, the council has said it has tried to keep the increase down and that it believed from asking people that they want to see social care supported and also a sustainable road repair programme, which will be funded from a £15 million earmarked reserve.
