Dublin City Council has refused plans to redevelop the former Irish Glass Bottle site at Poolbeg for further housing.
A consortium, led by Johnny Ronan's RGRE was seeking to construct 516 apartments at the location. The redevelopment plans, which were lodged by Pembroke Beach DAC in May of last year, included two blocks ranging from four to 10 storeys.
They would comprise 143 build to rent apartments, 52 social housing units, 77 affordable housing units and 244 apartments. The plans also included residential amenity facilities, a childcare facility and 17 retail spaces including a food hall and five cafe/restaurants.
