South Ayrshire Council leader Martin Dowey has laid out the plans for the future of the Citadel if councillors vote to scrap the proposed town centre leisure centre.
The Conservatives vowed to shelf the new leisure centre at the Arran Mall and Hourstons and concentrate on refurbishing the Citadel.
Councillor Dowey doubled down on that approach after being asked whether recent information about the 'serious operational risks and environmental problems' at the Citadel would make refurbishment justifiable.
