A council interpreter assaulted a cop after a man was arrested when he crashed his car into a lamppost, a court heard. Luminita Testatonda committed the offence in December 30, 2019.
Nottingham Crown Court heard it happened at 12.05am after the crash in Oak Crescent, East Leake. When police arrived, the man was obstructive to police officers and they arrested him.
Testatonda, an interpreter for Leicestershire County Council, started to record the incident as the man was injured as he was put in a police van. She put herself between the arresting officers and the van but was told to step back.

She struck a policewoman in the chest with a single blow, but the officer could not say if that was deliberate or reckless. Testatonda, 43, of Little Moor Lane, Loughborough, pleaded guilty to assaulting the officer at court on Tuesday (August 2).
Recorder Michael Auty QC said the matter happened two-and-a-half years ago and "emotions were plainly fraught". She wiped away tears as he conditionally discharged her for 18 months.
