Costco announced Tuesday that it will work with SCAN Health Plan, a nonprofit Medicare insurer, to jointly sell branded Medicare Advantage products in two states and a Medicare supplement plan in a third. It is the first time the warehouse retailer has put its own name on a Medicare plan.
Nothing is available yet. The plans require approval from the federal Medicare agency, and both companies declined to name the states or a launch date while that approval is pending. The three initial markets together contain roughly 5 million Medicare enrollees, executives said.
