The end of Thanksgiving usually marks the beginning of the holiday season, with many retailers getting ahead of the curve by offering early sales and deals to attract shoppers.
Most of the big retailers already have promotions underway. Amazon (AMZN) -) offered Cyber Monday deals to ring in the shopping season. Target (TGT) -) and Walmart both held Black Friday deals. And the sales just seem to keep happening earlier.

Amazon held its first round of Prime Days in July, then a subsequent Prime Big Deal Days in October. Target and Walmart (WMT) -) both offered similar promotions in July and October.
Pair this with the ubiquitous post-Thanksgiving sales nearly every online retailer seems to be holding, and you've got a frenzy of activity and the skyrocketing sales to prove it.
And while it certainly offers plenty of deals in the way of its Holiday Savings promotion, Costco (COST) -) is also renowned for its reputation for year-round discounts.
New Costco item is selling fast
Costco may be beloved for its discounts and deals, but it's also popular among members for its off-the-beaten-path finds.
That's because the retail giant is more of an experience than a department store or grocer. The warehouse sells everything, including kayaks, jeans, diamonds, liquor, books, wagyu beef, and 7.2 pound-chocolate cakes. And one item is now delighting customers ahead of the holidays — and selling out quickly.
Costco's faux fur Mon Chanteau blanket has been discovered and promoted on social media thousands of times, and for a limited time it's on sale for $10 off the sticker price.
The blanket, which typically retails for $40, is massive and perfect for cooler weather, customers point out.
"These are the softest throws on the planet and the quality is 10/10. They don’t shed and wash so well. I just wash mine on cold and dry on low," Instagram account CostcoHotFinds says of the blanket. "I took one as a white elephant gift last year and this was the gift everyone went after until the bitter end."

"I bought one and it’s seriously the best blanket I own!" another replied.
"So cozy! Could spend the whole weekend wrapped in it on the couch," one wrote.
"Great price! I worked for Williams Sonoma/Pottery Barn, and theirs are hella expensive and quality is equal," another pointed out.
Others are calling it a dupe for more high-end brands, warning they "sold out like crazy in the past."

From Nov. 27 through Dec. 10, the piece is on sale as a part of a holiday promotion. The 50 inch by 70 inch throws are currently sold out on Costco's website. The queen blankets, which are the next size up, are selling for $69.99 as a part of a similar promotion.
The blankets are sold in gray, taupe or brown and can be washed and tumbled dry.
