The cost of school holiday childcare in Scotland has shot up to £142.68 - a 7 per cent increase in one year, according to new stats.
Research by London based charity Coram Family and Childcare found that parents across Britain are forking out an average of £148 per week for childcare, up by five per cent.
They've found that the average weekly cost of childcare is more than double what a weekly after school club would cost, which is £67. This means that six weeks of holiday childcare could cost a family nearly £890 on average. The same amount during term-time would only cost around £400.
