Government bosses have issued an update as hundreds of thousands of people are yet to receive a £400 Cost of Living payment to help with energy bills.
While some 29 million households across the UK are already receiving monthly discounts through the £400 Energy Bills Support Scheme (EBSS), people in more than 900,000 homes will have to apply for their cash.
Local authorities in Scotland, England and Wales are aiming to provide one-off, non-repayable lump sum to households without a direct relationship with a domestic electricity supplier. This includes people who live in park homes, houseboats, off-grid and care homes, or those paying their energy bills as part of an all-inclusive rental agreement with their landlord.

Applications opened on Monday, February 27, and will remain open until May 31, 2023.
On Wednesday (March 1), government bosses asked local authorities to "do everything they possibly can to support the scheme and deliver the support to those households who have not yet received support with their energy bill costs".
You may be eligible to apply if your main home is:
- a residential park home
- on a boat on a permanent residential mooring
- on a permanent Gypsy and Traveller site
- part of a heat network without an electricity meter
- in social or private rented accommodation which has a business energy connection or a communal electricity supply
- off the mains electricity or gas grid
- in a care home or assisted living facility and you pay for some or all of your care (directly or through loss of pension or other benefits)
- in a separate domestic home within a non-domestic property (such as a farmhouse or a flat above a shop)
