Bord Gais has announced that it is raising its price for gas and electricity by 27% and 39% respectively in April.
This is the latest blow to consumers who have faced rising costs across the board.
Bord Gais has also confirmed that it is ending its "winter pledge" program which protected customers over the colder winter period.

To help customers who will face difficulty paying their bills, Bord Gais has put in place services and supports to help and is working with Money Advice and Budgeting Service and other charities to establish an energy support fund.
The fund will consist of €1.25 million in addition to the services already in place.
The price increase is being blamed on "consistently high demand for gas worldwide, reduced supplies and geopolitical issues."
"We know that today’s announcement is not welcome news. As part of Centrica plc, and with decades of local experience, we will navigate through these unprecedented times with our customers, Dave Kirwan, Managing Director with Bord Gáis Energy, said.
"However, there have been continued"increases in wholesale energy costs over the past two years, particularly in the past 12 months."
"This, together with the expectation that costs will remain both high and volatile for some time, means we are forced to increase our prices."
