
Senator Cory Booker found himself in a familiar role on Monday when he vocally defended Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson when the Senate Judiciary Committee’s vote on her nomination ended in a deadlock on Monday.
Mr Booker’s defence of Ms Jackson came after multiple Republican Senators, including Ted Cruz of Texas and Josh Hawley of Missouri, assailed her record on sentencing people charged possessing child sex abuse images. But Mr Booker was quick to note that many Republican-nominated judges made similar sentences.
