Sen Cory Booker called on his fellow New Jersey Democratic Sen Bob Menendez to resign amid an indictment accusing Mr Menendez of bribery and corruption.
Mr Booker and Mr Menendez have worked together for a decade since Mr Booker won a special election in 2013, and the two are personally close.
