Coronation Street star Todd Boyce has been receiving words of warning from his co-stars, amid fears of a backlash from fans.
The ITV soap has a loyal following across the country and is airing a dramatic storyline as of late, with Stephen Reid already having murdered two people - Teddy and his son Leo. He is also setting his sights on Carla, keen to take over her business empire and after finding out she experienced psychosis in the past, he wants to use that to his advantage.
After two murders and plans to trick another resident, actor Todd is worried about the reaction to what will happen in the coming episodes, as he revealed Chris Gascoyne - who plays Peter Barlow - gave him a warning.
Asked what he thinks viewers of the soap will think about the new plot, he said: "I am not sure. She is a very popular character.
"Up until now he has targeted people who are relatively new characters that people haven't really got to know but this is different. Chris Gascoyne [Peter Barlow] has been so lovely about it, he said, 'Oh mate you have no idea what you are in for when this starts.'"
Todd enjoys working with Ali King, who plays Carla Connor, but worries what fans will think of his character.
Speaking about working with his co-star, he added: "Ali King and I have had some great scenes together, really fiery scenes and I have enjoyed that and I think people have enjoyed her getting one over on him so they will hate it when the tables are turned."
He is used to people giving their verdict on his character, and quipped some seem a little "scared" of him. He recalled to Digital Spy how people are always very polite, revealing how in one case he met two ladies in their late 60s in a supermarket.
Walking through the frozen aisle, he turned around and he saw the "blood drain from their faces". He was convinced that they thought he might want to push them into the freezer, whilst also revealing other people tell him their partner hates them.
It comes after Tina O'Brien teased her character, Sarah Platt, could be next to die in a shock twist with Stephen.
She told Inside Soap: "I don’t think anybody is safe. If he winks at me funny, I’m going to panic and start running from the building! Sarah is one of the closest people to him, so if she finds out, she might be the next one to go."
