Corrie star Charlotte Jordan dubbed 'unreal' and fans are 'obsessed' as she reveals new hairdo

Coronation Street star Charlotte Jordan has been winning high-praise for her portrayal of terrified bride Daisy Midgeley in the soap, and the actress wowed as she showed off a new hairdo. Charlotte, who had the nation in tears last Monday as Daisy was targeted with acid on her wedding day, looked stunning in snaps of herself sporting a different style.

Charlotte, who arrived in the soap as barmaid Daisy in November 2020, usually wears her wavy locks down and with a hairband when she's in character. She smiled in new snaps shared on her Instagram with her honeyed tresses piled high on her head in a bun.

"I’m a bun hun now," she captioned pictures posted on her Instagram wearing an off-the-shoulder ribbed dress. She completed the glam look with a loveheart necklace, a pink pout and glossy manicured nails.

The compliments came pouring in as Kirk Betts told her: "You look lovely." gazh1968 messaged: "Stunning x" charlottevsp4 - told her: "I love the bun- Daisy needs it." And urgirlcharlii praised: "This look is everything! Queen!"

Charlotte thanked fans for their praise after harrowing scenes which saw Daisy have acid hurled in her direction by her stalker Justin Rutherford as she prepared to leave for her wedding. Justin turned up at the Rovers Return just as friend Ryan Connor was about to drive her to the ceremony.

Justin stepped out of the shadows with a clear glass of liquid and threw it. Devastatingly it was Ryan who took the force of the acid as he stepped in.

After dialling 999, a frantic Daisy got Ryan into the shower under running cold water and cut the shirt off his back. In a heartbreaking exchange with DS Swain, the barmaid, who had a stalking protection order rejected, pointed out how many times she had reported Justin. "You knew everything about him and he was still free to do this," she seethed.

As Daisy waited at the hospital for news on Ryan, she spotted Justin staring at her from his car parked outside. In an emotional final confrontation she kept him talking until police swooped and arrested him on suspicion of GBH.

Impressed viewers tipped Charlotte and co-star Ryan Prescott who plays Ryan and to win awards. @Charles69700909 tweeted: "Charlotte Jordan is a shoe in for a BAFTA after tonight performance, simply amazing."

@pirwany applauded: #Corrie Tonight’s incredible episode of stalking and acid attack is worthy of @bafta. What an acting by Daisy (Charlotte Jordan)." And @pirwany said: "Charlotte Jordan was super excellent tonight. Charlotte and this episode deserve @BAFTA 100 per cent."

Last week Charlotte appeared on Loose Women to talk about the powerful storyline, working with the The Kate Piper Foundation, founded by acid attack survivor Katie Piper and Acid Survivors Trust International (ASTI).

She said: "I think, that’s what was important for the writers and the storyline, is that all these things that have happened to Daisy are very much based on real life events that have happened to survivors of this situation. She’s been constantly let down by the police, and their inability to get involved has resulted in Justin being able to do this really horrific, evil, violent crime."

And she said about the story: "On one hand you think lucky me to be given a dramatic storyline, like you say after a lot of lighter, comedic stories under her belt. But at the same time, you just think, as if this happens so regularly. It’s so awful that we even have to do it."
