As January gets underway, there's trouble for David Platt over his adopted son Max's involvement with racist Griff. During a dramatic week of Corrie, with a schedule change which sees the soap aired on Sunday, January 8 and then Wednesday and Friday, police question Max about his involvement with Griff’s gang but release him without charge.
Later, Max is horrified to come face to face with Griff. Daryan tells David he tried to speak to Max but could hear him arguing with a man inside the house. David rushes to the house and a fight breaks out between him and Griff.
Summer also looks to be in danger as a shocking secret is exposed about Mike, from the creepy couple paying her to have their baby. Summer announces that she’s got an appointment at the fertility clinic and Billy assures her that he won’t stand in her way this time.

But her other dads Todd and Paul are determined to find out more about Mike and Esther. Paul suggests to Todd that the best plan of action might be to raise the money to pay Mike and Esther off in the hope they’ll leave Summer alone.
Having taken Summer for her blood test, Mike and Esther drop her off at home. Leanne clocks Mike and realises he’s the drunken man who flirted with her in the bistro. She tells Billy who is deeply concerned and feels she needs to know the truth.
Then Summer is shocked when Todd tells her he has been contacted by Ava, a member of the congregation at Mike and Esther’s old church, claiming she had an affair with Mike. Summer decides to confront Esther who confirms it is true but says they have agreed to put it behind them.
Summer decides to meet up with Ava but is shocked by what she discovers. Furious, she heads over to Esther and Mike’s but she's horrified when Mike locks her in the nursery without her bag containing her phone and insulin.
And they've only just got engaged but Daisy and Daniel are already on the rocks. When Daisy falls in love with a wedding venue way out of her budget she is thrilled when they tell her that they can do it for half the price on the second Monday of May.
Daisy plans to go to an event at the hotel where a top DJ is playing. Hoping to try and get him for the wedding she tells Daniel that she still wants to get married in May.
When Daniel is less than enthusiastic about it being so soon she heads off to the event and flirts with the DJ, posting snaps of them together online. When Daniel asks to speak to Daisy in private she is expecting a row but Daniel shows her the brochure for Charlesworth Hall, the posh wedding venue.
He reveals that he’s managed to book the time off and the wedding is set for May 8. When Daisy receives a bouquet of flowers from the DJ, she hides the card and hands the flowers to Daniel making out she bought them for him.
Meanwhile, he's become a firm favourite with Coronation Street fans since becoming a reformed character earlier this year, finding love with Amy Barlow. But we might be about to say a sad goodbye to Jacob Hay after he gets embroiled in his dad Damon's dastardly deeds.
In the bistro, Damon introduces Leanne to Dan, a fruit and veg supplier and tells her he can do her a far better deal. Jacob’s left suspicious when Damon tells him that Dan’s first delivery is due this afternoon and hidden in the crate of olive oil will be a package containing drugs.
Expecting the first drugs delivery Jacob is stressed when a party of police officers arrive for a retirement do with their sniffer dog in tow. A crate of olive oil is delivered and Jacob manages to get the package out and leaves the Bistro.
When the sniffer dog barks at the crate, Craig heads for Jacob’s flat. Back In the bistro, Leanne and Ryan check through the rest of the delivery boxes wondering what on earth set the dog barking.
Later, in the ginnel, Damon gives Jacob a beating and tells him that if he wants to protect girlfriend Amy, he needs to disappear for good. Jacob tells Nick how Damon is smuggling drugs through the restaurant and he has no choice but to leave as Amy’s life is in danger.
Hearing Amy entering the flat, a desperate Jacob pretends he’s on the phone dealing drugs. Amy’s horrified to think he’s up to his old tricks.
