Ryan Connor will go missing on Coronation Street next week as he struggles with some upsetting news.
The bartender and waiter was hit by the corrosive liquid when evil stalker Justin tried to target Daisy in a shocking moment on her wedding day. Ryan - played by actor Ryan Prescott - ended up getting burns on his face from the harrowing attack and has been struggling in hospital as he slowly starts to find out the full extent of his injuries.
Next week on the ITV soap, Ryan explains to Alya he is feeling even more terrified after learning Justin has pleaded not guilty. He is worried he'll have to relive it all in court in the hope of helping police get Justin convicted.
Alya promises she'll be there alongside him the whole way, leading to Ryan to make a big love confession, but how will she react to his declaration of love? Elsewhere, Daisy brings Crystal to see Ryan in hospital as they discuss the future for his gigs in Ibiza.
Ryan admits to Daisy that the talk has really helped him focus on and he's finally ready to see his face and his injuries. Seeing his face for the first time, he's horrified to learn from the surgeon that it isn't healing and he will need a skin graft.
Later, Daisy and Carla head into Ryan's room and soon discover he's missing and his backpack is gone. They quickly organise a search party to try and relocate Ryan, before finding him at the tram station. It's clear he's struggling.
Ryan is unaware but will soon be dealt a new blow as Crystal has told Daisy she wants nothing to do with Ryan anymore.
After a successful skin graft later in the week, Ryan is told he can go home. Alongside Carla, he heads to the canteen but when a group of nurses start giggling, he panics and thinks it could be about him.
Unable to face the world, Ryan asks to be alone when a little girl runs into his room and notices his face. Full of curiosity, the kid stares at his face as Ryan struggles with his new normal. Devastated, he sends Alya away.
Actor Ryan previously revealed that there were around 15 makeup artists working on the show to help him apply the makeup at different times, and it was hard to keep it matched at each time.
Ryan explained: "The colouration has to be done every time by hand, every time I come in. There is around 15 people in the makeup team that will have to get used to putting it on. It was about an hour in the chair at the beginning and an hour to get it off. The hardest thing to do is match it with continuity, so they are having to match not just the colouration but the placement too."
