Coronation Street’s Max Turner is not out of the woods yet after he became groomed and ensnared in the far right gang of Griff Reynolds.
Max was groomed by Griff and his gang a few months ago, after they targeted him amid rampant bullying from other boys at his school, when he lost his place at Weatherfield High.
The troubled teen, played by Paddy Bever, is still under the influence of the violent figure after the cobbles was rocked by his violent actions of late, leading up to his arrest.
Although Paddy about his doubts about the groups methods, even his own dad David Platt has expressed concern Max may never be de-radicalised after working as Griff’s video editor to spread harmful content online.
ITV spoilers have now revealed that Max’s continued sympathy for Griff lands him in very hot water next week on the ITV soap, when his videos become the inspiration for a stabbing spree that rocks Weatherfield.
As the refugee centre is formally opened, Maria (Samia Longchambon) makes a speech welcoming the refugees and offering them support.
Meanwhile Max is on his phone listening to Blake outside Speed Daal, making a racist speech pledging to put an end to the refugee centre by whatever means necessary.
It becomes increasingly clear to Max that Blake’s target is Maria, begging the question of whether Max will do anything to stop him.
As horrific violence unfolds on the cobbles, Max tells Gail (Helen Worth) and David (Jack P. Shepherd) that he fears the propaganda videos he made for the gang inspired Blake to go on his stabbing spree.
As David, Gail, Adam (Sam Robertson) and Sarah (Tina O’Brien) view the videos they’re left shocked at what they find Max has become involved in.
Lawyer Adam then warns that Max could be charged with encouraging terrorism by the police force, which carries a 10 year sentence.
After the devastating stabbing spree has unfolded as a result of Max’s work with Griff, could the teen be plunged into an even darker hole with the deaths on his conscience?
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV.
