Faye confesses the truth about Ted's death
Faye Windass and Craig Tinker are set to face the ultimate test of their relationship on the ITV soap, as Faye confesses to her involvement in Ted’s death next week.
After Faye (Ellie Leach) and Emma Brooker (Alexandra Mardell) ran over the pensioner, the two characters have kept the car accident under wraps.
Emma’s conscience got the better of her and she phoned the police anonymously, saying she was anxious about her neighbour, Ted.
The police, including Craig (Colson Smth), then discovered Ted’s body in his flat.
A terrified Faye has watched as her policeman boyfriend has edged closer to the truth after he started using Ted’s crutches following a running injury.
Faye has agonised over her part in the accident, fearful that if she is discovered she’ll be sent straight back to prison.
The story continues in scenes airing January 24, when Craig receives word back from the fingerprint expert and has to rush to the station - leaving Emma worried sick.
Emma tells Faye that Ted’s funeral is to be held the following day, which Faye says must be a good sign, as it means the police have released the body.
But this good news crumbles when Craig returns home from work and reveals that Ted’s post mortem suggests he was run over, and that this might have triggered the blood clot that killed him, leaving Faye and Emma mortified.
The tense situation reaches an explosive conclusion in scenes airing on January 28, as Emma suggests to Faye that they attend Ted’s funeral.
When Craig reveals that the police have put together an e-fit of the girl the postman saw at Ted’s flat, he remarks it looks like Emma.
This is enough to push Faye over the edge and she confesses the whole story surrounding Ted’s death to her boyfriend.
How will Craig react? Will he turn Faye in?
Tim's fate and Sally's arrest
Sally Metcalfe is arrested next week - as husband Tim continues to battle with his health.
Tim (Joe Duttine) has been struggling with his health lately, and has been keeping it mostly a secret from his wife Sally (Sally Dynevor) as she continues to focus on her political ambitions.
He has been getting support from one of his female friends at the hospital, but Sally has been left fuming, as she's convinced he is having an affair - rather than dealing with his serious health issues.
In next week's shows, Tim is desperate to tell Sally what's happened and tell her how sorry he is as he prepares for surgery.
From his hospital bed, Tim begs Kevin to help him and speak to Sally for him, as he's desperate for her to know how much he loves her - but will she forgive him before he goes under the knife?
Given his anaesthetic, Tim prepares for surgery but just as he drifts off, he can hear a commotion in the hospital corridor as Sally gets arrested by a police officer.
In the following show, Tim wakes up from his operation and has some hazy memories of Sally being arrested - but he assumes it must have been some sort of weird dream.
Bernie's lies exposed
Coronation Street's Bernie Winter breaks down next week, as her lies are exposed regarding Joseph Brown's recent disappearance.
Joseph, the stepson of Bernie's daughter Gemma, ran away from home earlier this month, after a row with his dad Chesney over his school bullies.
The 10 year old hid in the attic of his aunt Fiz's house, with his cousin Hope Stape keeping him there.
But when the youngsters were out and about, amid Joseph's worried loved ones appealing for his safe return, they were spotted by a friend of Bernie's named Clint.
Clint recognised Joseph and bribed the pair in exchange for the £30,000 reward money for Joseph being found.
He said he would keep quiet on the true circumstances of him going missing and Hope knowing the truth, if they let him return the child and claim the reward.
The youngsters agreed and Joseph returned, only for Bernie to figure out the truth about her pal Clint.
But instead of spilling the beans, the family's money woes led to her doing the unthinkable and striking a deal with Clint.
Instead of calling the police, she wanted to split the reward money - while Joseph and Hope also needed to remain quiet.
Next week on the ITV soap, Bernie's secret comes under threat with her forced to bribe both the kids to stay silent on the matter.
Getting Hope loads of sweets and offering them money, she also gets Joseph a new video game.
But this only raises the suspicions of those on the street, including Hope's grandmother Evelyn.
Bernie is soon accused of being behind Joseph going missing in a bid to steal the cash, which she vehemently denies.
But Evelyn calls the police on her, and it's not long before she breaks down and spills the truth to them.
Both Bernie and Chesney are soon hauled in for police questioning much to their horror, but will they face trouble and can her family forgive her?
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
