Coronation Street airs two key storylines next week according to the latest spoilers, that bring drama to the cobbles.

His family learn his fate after he was arrested in a recent episode.

Elsewhere, Carla Connor finds herself on the hit list of killer Stephen Reid once more, leading to her being drugged by the villain.

As Carla begins to lose control, will anyone realise what Stephen is up to? Here's a look at the week ahead on Corrie...

Max leaves?

Max is finally sentenced next week on the ITV soap, raising the likelihood of his exit from the cobbles in coming scenes, if only temporarily.

The troubled teen has been placed in a juvenile detention facility after he pleaded guilty at his hearing related to the horror stabbing attack on the soap last month.

After knifeman Blake had live streamed the attack on social media, he told police that Max’s propaganda videos inspired him to go on a stabbing spree.

ITV spoilers have now revealed that next week on the soap sees David attend a meeting with Max and his barrister Kim.

Kim confirms that because stabbing victim Alya has failed to submit a personal victim statement, Max’s case may be better than initially anticipated.

In later scenes at court, David, Spider, Gary and Daryan watch as the judge hands Max a six-month sentence.

Outside the courtroom, David hugs Max and assures him that he’ll visit as often as he can, but the teen tells him he doesn’t want any visits.

Carla in danger

Stephen Reid puts Carla Connor in danger (ITV)

Stephen Reid puts Carla Connor in danger in frightening scenes next week on the ITV soap, as the walls close in on the character.

The villain has proven highly dangerous, having so far murdered Leo Thompkins and Leo's dad Teddy Thompkins.

It looks like his next victim might be set now as Stephen sets his sights on Carla, after a series of run-ins with the factory boss.

Stephen has a plan to get control of Underworld from Carla, and he’s putting that into action by trying to set up a big contract behind her back for the new designs that Michael and Sarah have come up with.

Later in the week after the group talk things through, Carla calls a meeting with Sarah and Stephen and explains that Sarah is now Head of Design whilst Stephen will be Office Manager.

Determined to have his revenge on Carla, Stephen slips into the Underworld office with a vial of LSD and slips the drug into Carla’s coffee.

In later frightening scenes, Carla heads onto the factory floor, clearly discombobulated and woozy. In the Rovers, Stephen strikes again as he spikes Carla’s red wine with another vial of LSD.

Stephen also sneaks into Carla’s office, and deletes a meeting with Dick Haversham from her diary while he also muddles up her paperwork.

Throughout the week fans will see him continue to drug Carla, while also messing with her head - leading to scenes that see another Weatherfield resident in danger.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
