Coronation Street’s Joseph Brown is set to cause more emotional turmoil on the cobbles next week, as he asks to move away with his gran Linda Hancock.
Linda’s (Jacqueline Leonard) arrival on the soap comes after her grandson’s emotional vanishing act, which left dad Chesney (Sam Aston) fearing the worst as the police searched for the missing youngster.
Despite Chesney (Sam Aston)’s attempts to convince Linda that everything is fine with the family, it’s not long before residents are filling her in on the recent drama surrounding Joseph.
Linda makes an effort during her stay to bond with Joseph, something which Chesney has not had time for of late as he raises quadruplets.
In upcoming scenes on the soap, Linda continues to lend a hand and during a trip to Number 5 she offers to pay for Joseph to attend a children's activity club.
ITV spoilers have revealed that Linda is keen to help the family after spotting how much Chesney seems to be struggling - and Joseph heads off excited with his gran.
But Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) is unimpressed and confides in Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) that she doesn't like Linda.
Later, when Linda and Joseph return home, Bernie explains that two of the quads have fallen ill and Linda suggests Joseph stay with her at her swanky hotel, leaving the youngster thrilled.
Going a step further, Linda tentatively suggests to Chesney that it might be best if Joseph moved to Portugal to live with her permanently - pointing out the family challenges with raising five children.
But later scenes show that the suggestion massively backfires, as a furious Chesney orders Linda out of the house.
Outside, Bernie also has a go at her, but when Joseph then approaches his gran, she asks him outright if he wants to come and live with her.
This only leaves Chesney even more angered and he tells Linda to stay away from his son.
Back at the house, Chesney and Gemma discuss how they can work harder to ensure Joseph is happy.
But as Joseph listens from the stairs, he misinterprets their conversation and assumes that they don't want him anymore.
Joseph responds by announcing that he wants to live with Linda in Portugal - only for Gemma to then unwittingly let it slip to Linda in the Rovers that Joseph wants to move to the the warmer climes with her.
Could we see Joseph permanently leave the cobbles for a new life in Portugal? Or will Chesney manage to keep his family together in Weatherfield?
