Corrie spoilers confirm major cobbles exit for character with emotional farewell

Coronation Street’s Alya Nazir will bid goodbye to her younger brother Zeedan Nazir next week on the ITV soap, in the wake of her horror stabbing.

Alya (Sair Khan) and Zeedan (Qasim Akhtar) are set to share an emotional fairwell on the cobbles, ITV spoilers have revealed, as the character makes an exit.

Zeedan is set to leave Coronation Street to set off for London, but is leaving his sister during an extremely emotionally precarious time.

The scenes are set to air on Monday on ITV and are part of a storyline that sees Alya comes face to face with Jayden, a client who is accused of stabbing someone – just weeks after her own stabbing attack at the hands of disturbed Blake.

ITV spoilers have confirmed that, before Adam and Dee-Dee can stop her, Alya angrily describes exactly what it’s like to be stabbed.

Ryan listens as Alya unburdens herself and suggests she should put it all down in her personal victim statement.

Then, there’s a further twist as old lovers reunite at No.6, when Ryan pulls Alya in for a hug and it soon turns into a passionate kiss.

Will Zeedan return? And how will Alya cope in the coming weeks after the horror attack?

It comes after the ITV soap confirmed that Coronation Street has confirmed that evil Hashim’s daughter Marrium will be returning to the show in upcoming scenes as well – and could be the cause of Zeedan’s London departure.

Marrium arrives on the cobbles to confront Zeedan over the death of her father Hashim – after the siblings failed to call an ambulance when he was experiencing a heart attack in Coronation Street.

He had been levelling threats to Zeedan, saying he would cause trouble for the Nazirs for several weeks.

In next week's scenes, Marrium returns and reveals that she finally knows the truth – telling Zeedan that she can't believe he and Alya stood back and watched Hashim die.

Zeedan is horrified and begs Marrium not to go to the police and in later scenes, Alya tries to resolve the tensions by speaking to Marrium.

Alya thinks that Marrium and Zeedan can still make their marriage work, only to realise he is sticking around in Weatherfield to take care of her instead.

Keen to show that she can get her life back on track after the stabbing incident, Alya tells Zeedan that she doesn't need his protection and proves it by returning to work at Speed Daal.

Zeedan remains unconvinced, telling Alya that he'll be sticking around on the cobbles whether she likes it or not – however, given next week’s spoilers it seems he may have a change of heart.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV.
