Coronation Street's Sue Cleaver has told of her biggest fear ahead of her appearance on I'm A Celebrity.
The soap star, 59, is set to join DJ Chris Moyles, Love Island ’s Olivia Attwood and pop icon Boy George in the jungle this year.
The star, who plays Eileen Grimshaw in the ITV soap, touched down in Australia last week as she gets ready to tackle the jungle after being pictured arriving at Brisbane Airport.
But the telly favourite has revealed that she’s less concerned about the creepy crawlies, and more about the public’s perception of her after seeing her play Eileen Grimshaw for the last 22 years.
Ahead of her jungle stint, the actress said her only worry about taking part in I’m A Celebrity is the fact she will be filmed 24/7.
It will, she said, be a very new experience and Sue joked that she hopes viewers won’t prefer her soap character to her.
“This is the scariest part for me,” she explained. “I am a very private person and I am putting myself out there, which is what I am most nervous about.
“I do keep my life private and I am very happy with my home life.
“Viewers are going to see a different person to the person they think I am! I am very different. That can be worrying.
“They might decide they don’t like me as much as Eileen!”
Ahead of the new series gracing our screens, all celebs will have to stay locked in isolation for a week with bosses said to be taking no chances with the continuing coronavirus pandemic.
Giving this extra time before entering the specially-made set allows the show more time should any of its main stars catch Covid on their flight into the country. If they do so, there would still be a chance they could enter as a late arrival should they test negative a few days later.
This year's eagerly anticipated competition is set to kick off on November 6, meaning the first arrivals are touching down well ahead of usual. It's thought the series will still last three weeks, but has been brought forward a week so it doesn't interfere too much with coverage of the World Cup, which gets underway on November 21.
While there will be a small overlap between the two key shows, it's not thought that it's going to affect either audiences too much.
Other celebrities rumoured to be joining this year's cast include Mike Tindall, Lionesses star Jill Scott, Strictly star and comedian Seann Walsh, Celebrity Gogglebox’s Babatunde Aleshe and broadcaster Charlene White.
I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! Starts on ITV on November 6.
