Corrie's Sally Dynevor and Michael Le Vell sign lucrative contracts to keep them on soap

Coronation Street icons Sally Dynevor and Michael Le Vell have signed contracts to remain on the soap for at least another year.

Sally, 59 and Michael, 58, have appeared on almost 7,000 episodes of the show between them and made a lasting impression with ITV viewers as former on-screen couple Sally Metcalfe and Kevin Webster.

It has been reported that the mother of Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor, is set to stay on the soap for another year, after she signed a lucrative contract.

Sally joined Coronation Street back in 1986 and has faced some highs and lows including her marital troubles with Kevin.

In total, the actor has appeared in 3,538 episodes and fans will be glad to know she will return for many more.

A source said: “For many, Sally IS Corrie so bosses were chuffed she chose to renew her contract."

Her co-star, Michael, has also secured his place on the show that has seen him appear in 3,250 episodes since 1983.

Michael and Sally have both taken breaks from the show throughout their long-running appearances, as they faced health troubles.

Back in 2009, Sally took six-months out of work as she recovered from breast cancer. While Michael had to take time out in 2014, to deal with his drinking.

Alongside these two iconic soap stars, Corrie veteran Bill Roache has also signed to stay on the cobbles for another year.

It has been reported that the 90-year-old who has played Ken Barlow on the soap since it began in 1970, has signed a contract for £250,000, a far cry from the £70 a week when he started on the show.

Bill, who holds the record for the longest-serving TV actor in a continuous role, was also awarded an OBE for acting by King Charles III for his role on the show.

The impressive actor has expressed that he hopes to keep working until he hits his milestone birthday, adding: “That’s my aim, to be 100 and still working on Coronation Street.”
