Coronation Street airs violent scenes next week on the ITV soap, as Peter Barlow attacks Mr Thorne after finding out about his recent behaviour at the hospital.
In scenes to air this week on the show, it will be revealed that Mr Thorne, a surgeon, rushed his life-saving operation last year as part of a bet.
This discovery is initially made by nurse Aggie Bailey, and she's soon threatened when things take a turn at the hospital.
But next week, spoilers confirm Peter finds out what happened, and it isn't long before he confronts the surgeon and vows payback.
After demanding an apology, he soon finds himself punching the character after he's wound up by him.
Clearly Thorne has no regrets and no remorse, despite the danger he could have put Peter in.
Peter underwent a lifesaving liver transplant last year after his alcoholism relapse, but it appears the surgeon wasn't exactly putting his health first.
Initially hoping to put an end to his behaviour, Peter sees red when Thorne doesn't take it seriously and he loses his temper in a physical altercation.
But Peter is soon arrested for the crime, and at the station Peter is charged with assault.
His partner Carla soon does what she can to convince Thorne to drop the charges - but he's soon abusing his power again, pretty much blackmailing Carla to go to dinner with him.
She's shocked but desperate to help Peter so agrees to give him her number - but will she go through with the dinner, and how will Peter react?
Meanwhile, after initially finding herself in the good books of her new boss Mr Thorne, things take a turn for Aggie in upcoming scenes.
It all kicks off when she gets on the wrong side of her boss, when he believes she is making him look incompetent in front of a patient.
He confronts her about it and issues her with a verbal warning, leaving Aggie in shock.
But she's later stunned when she overhears him telling a colleague how he rushed Peter's operation in order to win a bet - and not only that, but he is seen gloating about it.
Thorne is soon reported to the board for his actions, and it seems Aggie may be the one behind the complaint - while spoilers do not confirm this to be the case.
He certainly believes it was her though, and he wastes no time in threatening her.
