Coronation Street star Jennie McAlpine has revealed her upcoming onscreen wedding will descend into “chaos”.
The actress, 38, who plays Fiz Stapes on the long running ITV soap, is set to tie the knot with new love Phill Whittaker in scenes due to be aired next week.
But with two mother-in-laws at loggerheads – and a surprise appearance from Phill’s ex, Fiz’s big day is expected to have more than its fair share of drama.
While Jennie didn’t completely give the plot away, she did drop a few hints as to what viewers can expect when she walks down the aisle again.

Speaking to Closer magazine, Jennie said: “Last time we saw Mimi [Phill’s mum] she told Tyrone that Fiz was common and not good enough for her son – so Fiz is dreading her arrival.
“And Mimi causes flipping chaos, that’s all I’ll say – and Evelyn doesn’t like her right from the start.”
Then when Phill’s “gorgeous, successful ex” shows up, Fiz is convinced he will go back to her and she’ll be left on her own again.
“Everything goes wrong and says to Evelyn in the pub, ‘This marriage is doomed!’” Jennie explains.
But there is one thing that will definitely throw an even bigger spanner in the works.
Fiz’s ex Tyrone Dobbs, who she shares two children with, is set to drop a bombshell on her wedding day.
Viewers have seen the mechanic subtly trying to win Fiz back for months, but he stepped aside when he saw she was happy with Phill.
Unable to keep his true feelings to himself anymore, Tyrone will declare his undying love for Fiz and beg her to get back together.
In a romantic gesture, he even gifts her a pair of pearl earrings which Jack once gave to Vera.
So who will Fiz choose – new man Phill or her cheating ex Tyrone?
Although viewers are rooting for Fiz and Ty to get back together, it wasn’t that long ago he left her for factory worker Alina Pop.
Alina left the soap in September last year and is set to star in an upcoming film alongside Ed Sheeran and Jennifer Saunders.
Before she quit the cobbles to head back to her native Romania, Alina had an affair with Tyrone.
She then became pregnant with his baby, only for her to tragically miscarriage when Fiz’s daughter Hope set a fire at her flat.
In her final scenes as Alina, actress Ruxandra Porojnicu tells Tyrone to go back to Fiz and that he should never have left her.
But viewers see her rub her stomach, suggesting she was pregnant again when she sent Ty packing, so a return to the cobbles could be on the cards in the future.
