Pregnant Faye Windass was rushed to hospital tonight on Coronation Street.
Faye - played by Ellie Leach - is expecting her boyfriend Craig Tinker's baby - but after a stressful day, where she and Emma Brooker (Alexandra Mardell) confessed to Jon that they had a part in his grandfather Ted's death, Faye started bleeding.
She was panicking as Emma tried to reassure her she and the baby would be OK, and they immediately called Craig to help them, as Faye and her boyfriend headed to the hospital to get checked out.
At the hospital, a nervous Faye was checked by a nurse, who rushed out the room to talk to a colleague.
After the scan, it was revealed that Faye hadn't been pregnant at all, with both her and Craig incredibly shocked by the news.
They insisted they had a positive pregnancy test, but the nurse confirmed that there was never any baby there, leaving both Faye and Craig devastated as they returned home to tell Emma the sad news.
Viewers of the ITV soap were also sad for the pair and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
"Oh no, poor Faye !! @itvcorrie #corrie #coronationstreet," one wrote, as another added: " Faye has had a phantom pregnancy."
However, other fans expressed some concern for Faye, fearing there might be some other health issues causing the positive test.
One penned: " #Corrie So are Corrie going down the cancer route again with Faye ?" as another feared she'd have a similar story to Sinead, who died of cervical cancer. "First #Sinead.. now #Faye?! I hope not.. #Craig #Corrie," the viewer wrote.
"Phantom pregnancy or false positive pregnancy test is a sign of cancer #corrie," a third wrote.
Ellie took some time off the ITV soap last year and when she returned, she was immediately thrusted into a huge storyline with Emma.
"I think it depends what happens. Emma and Faye have built a bond and they have gone through this traumatic event – it has happened to both of them," she said previously as she was asked if she thought Faye and Emma's friendship would survive.
"They’re strong but the pressure will build. There are difficult decisions to make - hopefully they will be all right together."
