Coronation Street's Daisy Midgeley will see her storyline with obsessed stalker Justin ‘take a sinister turn’ in upcoming scenes on the cobbles, a soap insider has confirmed.
The ITV soap recently confirmed that frightening Justin will target Daisy in an acid attack in upcoming scenes, as Corrie viewers have seen Daisy left in fear over her tormentor in recent scenes.
Daisy met Justin in a hospital waiting room in December during her cancer scare and he opened up to her about his mother's ill health.
What seemed like a simple interaction between two frightened hospital visitors soon turned into a horror story as Daisy gradually realised he was the person sending her relentless flowers and messages online.
The situation took a frightening turn when Daisy tried to make it clear to Justin that they would not be together romantically – prompting him to ramp up his harassment.
Daisy has since reported Justin to the police and This Morning ’s soap expert Sharon Marshall teased what Coronation Street viewers can expect as Daisy goes to court to seek protection through the law.
Sitting in the ITV studio with co-hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Sharon said: “Justin is now targeting her life and her wedding, ruining her arrangements while scenes will see him show up to her flat this week too.
“She’s terrified. She’s trying to use the law to protect herself, so can she do it?”
However, in a first look clip, as Daisy gives evidence in court Justin once again shows up unannounced.
Sharon explained: “He just turns up trying to talk his way out of it saying ‘We’re just friends’.
“It’s all going to take a very sinister turn. Certainly this week, he manages to get into her home. She’s utterly terrified. Can the law protect her?”
She continued: “If he’s not physically attacked her, is there anything she can do? It’s got a long way to go, this story.
“We know it's her wedding day coming up. Things are going to escalate. What we will do is meet family members who will reveal that he’s had these dangerous obsessions before.”
Next week, spoilers reveal the torment continues and there's a new witness who drops some worrying words of advice.
Daisy decides to turn the tables on Justin by recording him on a livestream, exposing him to her followers on social media.
Justin hurries away and Daisy thinks her plan has worked, but she soon gets a visit from Justin's sister.
She warns Daisy that this isn’t the first time Justin has become obsessed with someone, and she needs to watch herself as he’s dangerous.
