Coronation Street spoilers have revealed one character will fight for their life this Christmas, as killer Stephen Reid finds his secrets ready to implode.
Teddy Thompkins, the father of murdered Leo Thompkins, returns to the street for answers after a discovery.
Only killer Stephen knows about Leo's demise earlier this year, after he murdered him during a fight in September.
Since then, Teddy has come looking for his son who was meant to be moving to Canada with his fiancée Jenny Connor – while Jenny believed she had been stood up.
Stephen made it seem as though Leo left without her after getting rid of his things, and texting his dad from Leo's phone.
Until now Stephen has hidden his crime, but in the coming weeks Teddy returns after a worrying discovery about his missing son.
But he could end up losing his own life, as he comes close to exposing Stephen's lies this Christmas.
It all kicks off when Jenny informs Stephen that Teddy has made contact, and has some news about Leo.
As Teddy arrives on the cobbles, Stephen spots him making his way to the pub to see Jenny and desperately tries to stop him.
As he interjects his path, a worried Teddy drops the bombshell that Leo never made it to Canada and is now missing.
Not only that, but he has discovered that Leo's phone is still in Weatherfield, and that this is the location where the text messages were sent from.
Teddy is desperate to break the news to Jenny and work out what has happened to his son, leaving killer Stephen in a panic.
In that moment though, a distracted Teddy walks straight into the path of an incoming van and is hit by the vehicle.
As Teddy remains lifeless in the middle of the road, Stephen watches on stunned – realising he has a possible lifeline in his hands.
Nick Tilsley spots the accident, and Jenny soon rushes over to check if Teddy is alive.
It seems Teddy will survive the incident but he is left fighting for his life in hospital – so will Stephen get his way?
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
