Coronation Street fans think they know who Stephen Reid will kill next after The Mirror revealed the villain would drown a character in horrifying scenes.
It was confirmed recently that the soap baddie would soon strike again, with new details teasing that a "big-budget" sequence would see another character lose their life.
Now, after a recent murder attempt, fans are convinced they know exactly who is at risk.
Viewers believe the person Stephen will kill is none other than factory client Rufus, after his recent blackmail.
Stephen had been getting LSD from Rufus and using it to drug Carla Connor, in a bid to steal the factory from her.
Rufus recently turned the tables on Stephen and threatened to expose his crimes, if he didn't do as he asked.
He wanted the sole rights to Stephen's new fashion line after Stephen had struck a deal with an American company.
Stephen did as he said to keep him quiet, but perhaps he's set to go back on his word meaning he will need to cover his tracks.
Viewers are now predicting Rufus will die in the upcoming murder twist, as Stephen prepares to silence a third character after already killing Leo and Teddy Thompkins.
Taking to Twitter, one fan said: "Rufus, must be," as a second fan agreed: "Clearly Rufus."
Other viewers guessed the same, as a third viewer wrote: "Rufus right can't wait."
It comes after The Mirror exclusively confirmed that Stephen would kill again, and that the looming next murder would see a character drown.
A source said: “Bosses expect the scene to shock people. Obviously, with water involved, it was a big-budget effort and all the stops were pulled out to make sure it looked flawless. Everyone is on tenterhooks to see who the next victim is going to be.
“Stephen is a man on the edge and could snap at any moment.”
Speaking about the soap murders, actor Todd, 61, said: “I think there could be more… he has a taste for it now. I think he figures that if he gets caught for three, it might as well be four or five.
“It would be great to go down in the record books as the show’s biggest serial killer. What a thing to be known for.”
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
