Coronation Street fans have worked out a surprise link between Steve McDonald and Laura Neelan's private investigator.
Laura is desperate to find out the whereabouts of her ex-husband Rick Neelan - who was killed by Gary Windass two years ago - and so has hired a private investigator to get to the bottom of where he might be.
However, eagle eyed fans have unearthed a connection between Cobbles legend Steve - played by Simon Gregson - and the actor who is playing the private investigator, Ron Fordham.
Laura is unwell and is desperate to find out where Rick - and his money is - before she passes away.
Ron Fordham, Laura's private investigator, has appeared in the soap before - most recently as a Detective Sergeant in the police. Played by Steven Hillman, the actor has also had a number of roles in the show including as a jury foreman and a repossession man.
However, his connection to Steve comes from his time playing Rich Raven, a taxi driver who worked for Street Cars - the business that is owned by none other that Steve McDonald.
"This is Steve Hillman, the actor who played Rich Raven in 2000 in Corrie," one fan wrote on Facebook.
"Jez Quigley installed him temporarily in Steve McDonald's new business venture, Street Cars. Question is, isn't this the same actor who is now playing the private investigator Laura is using to track down Rick Neelan's fortune?"
"They have used this actor in quite a few different roles in the past. We're not supposed to remember LOL!" another fan of the show wrote in response to the post, whilst a second penned: "I spotted that!"
Steve is in the midst of a big storyline with his daughter Amy Barlow, as she keeps her romance with Jacob a secret.
After all that stress, actor Simon Gregson believes Steve needs a break from the cobbles.
Asked what advice he'd give his character, he told OK! magazine: "My advice would be to go on holiday for a very long time and have a break. I think what he has to do is just watch it from the wings and be there for Amy if needs be. That’s the only thing he can do."
"It will definitely cause fractures, especially with Simon, Leanne and possibly Peter," he added.
