Coronation Street fans have criticised Sally Metcalfe for "making it all about her" after Tim collapsed on the ITV soap tonight.
Tim was with nurse Aggie Bailey when he had a panic attack, when his wife Sally - who has been in the dark about his health woes - banged on the door to demand what was going on as she had suspected he was having an affair.
The whole thing caused Tim to panic even more and he was rushed to hospital, where he had to come clean about his health issues with his wife as he prepared for his operation.
However, in surprising scenes at the end of the episode, Sally told her husband she no longer trusted him.
"Don't expect anymore from me than a hand to hold or a glass of water," she said, "I don't know where we go from here. If you couldn't tell me something as huge as this then it obviously means you don't trust me and if you don't trust me then I can't trust you."
However, fans took to Twitter to fume over Sally's comment.
"So your husband is about to have open heart surgery, earlier than planned due to stress... so what do you do? Tell him you don't trust him and walk out on him! RIP Tim. How unrealistic. #Corrie #coronationstreet," one wrote.
A second added: "Is sally going a little bit overboard it's not like he actually had affair...?? I mean yeah he should of told her from the off but she just literally made it about herself when he is having a serious op #Corrie."
"Don't be ridiculous Sally it's not about you. #Corrie," a third shared, whilst a fourth penned: "I cant believe Sally just said that! Me Me Me all about Me!!! Poor Tim #corrie."
A fifth wrote: "Sally is an emotional fool, just proves tim was right not to tell her. She has to be centre of attention. #Corrie."
However, some fans came to Sally's defence.
"I don't blame Sally for being angry with Tim. I wouldn't like it if a partner kept something as huge as that to himself. Tim was stupid. #Corrie," one viewer of the ITV soap wrote online.
A second added: "I don't blame Sally one bit for acting the way she is I would feel the exact same #Corrie."
