Dodgy Phill Whittaker's dark secret was finally exposed on Coronation Street last night... he wanted to write a book on serial killer John Stape.
Oh.
With the majority fans suspecting that Fiz's beau was connected to her murderous ex-husband, many were surprised by Phill's strange explanation.
But is it all what it seems?
The truth was exposed after Hope - John's biological daughter - began snooping on his laptop when she discovered a folder suspiciously titled "STAPE".
Cut to Hope in a mini digger as she smashes the windscreen of his posh car.
Back in the care of Tyrone, Hope finally revealed that she found information about John on Phill's laptop.
After Tyrone told Fiz about Hope's discovery, she confronted Phill - leading him to blurt out that he had been researching to create a book which told her side of the story.
Admitting that he had been secretly meeting up with a journalist behind her back, Phill even revealed that he had considered a number of Mills & Boon-style titles for the book, including From Sir With Love.
Is Phill hiding another dark secret? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
Suffice to say, Fiz was not happy and swiftly moved out and back in with Tyrone.
Yet, some fans reckon that the 'reveal' might not actually be the whole truth and could be a cover for something much more sinister.
Taking to Twitter, fans outlined their predictions as one commented: "Something tells me that Phill has known about John Stape longer than that week since he and fizz had that meal with his friends. No WAY has he done all that 'research' in one week. #Corrie."
While another suggested: "Btw I don’t believe anything phill has just said about a book. I think that’s a cover up for something else #Corrie."
A third wrote: "So Phill’s big secret was that he was starting to research John Stape? Surely there’s more to it than that? #Corrie."
