Corrie fans crack-up laughing as they're convinced Steve McDonald called wife Tracy the wrong name

Coronation Street icons Steve and Tracy McDonald are at the centre of a powerful story after their daughter Amy was raped by Aaron Sandford, and there were more hard-hitting scenes as the couple continued to support their teenage daughter. In Monday night's Corrie, the couple were faced with annoyed neighbour Aggie Bailey complaining about their 'eyesore' scaffolding.

A rattled Aggie was unaware of the latest turn of events for the family after Amy wrote about her ordeal and posted it online, and now she's being sued for libel with Steve and Tracy telling her they'll help her fight all the way. Aggie was given shirt shrift when she asked the couple when they’re going to fix the roof of their home and remove the scaffolding.

"When's the scaffolding coming down. It's been 10 months," she complained. "It's a bit of an eyesore and blocking the light to our house," she told them. But Tracy cut her off with a snide remark about the Bailey's "hideous wallpaper" and Steve scolded her.

But fans cracked-up laughing as they thought it sounded like he called Tracy, played by Kate Ford, 'Katie.' Kirstysstory tweeted: "Is it me. Or did Steve just called Tracie. Katie." And @livlifeagain2 said with laughing emojis: "Steve just called Tracy Katie on #corrie."

@Boosboss replied: "I thought that too." And @StVitusDance laughed: "Sounded like it lol." But @Kirstysstory corrected: "Was Tracy. I re watched it with captions on. Thought I hearing things lol."

Later, in a kindly gesture Aggie told Tracy that builder husband Ed would sort out their roof free of charge after learning that they could be 'cleaned out' by a libel case.

@itzzzo_ said: "Nice to see Ed and Aggie supporting Tracy Luv and Steve like this, feels like it's been ages since we've had some nice community scenes." @ConversationStr praised: "Ed offering to sort out the roof… The Baileys are good people. And @pam_debeauvoir cheered: "Ed Bailey, best builder in Manchester!!!"
