Coronation Street is lining up dangerous scenes next week, as troubled youngster Hope Stape wields a hammer around as she threatens teens at her school.
The character threatens the fellow youngsters, having recently discovered she has a lot in common with her killer dad - while she also joins a group chat called ‘Legacy of Evil’.
Hope never met her villainous father John Stape, but it seems she isn't worried about being related to the murderer.
Instead, following the release of a book about him and his crimes she decides to embrace her parentage.
To start off with it looks as though it's going well, as she manages to sell the books and autographs, while she confirms to fellow students at school that she plans to do readings from the book.
Soon enough though, Hope finds out she's being mocked by some older girls - and she decides to make them pay.
Hope informs her classmates that she is planning a special tribute for her late father, who was killed off in 2011.
Next week, Hope is up to no good as she steals a hammer from stepfather Tyrone Dobbs’ tool box and hides her earnings in a tin in a cupboard.
As she heads back to school, Hope approaches a couple of year 11 girls and tells them that she’ll be giving a reading from the John Stape book later.
But when Hope overhears them calling her a nut job, she pulls the hammer from her bag and heads towards them.
How far will Hope go, and should the girls watch their backs?
Meanwhile, Hope's mum Fiz and Tyrone are deeply concerned to discover the hammer missing from the toolbox, and a stash of cash in a tin in the cupboard.
Will they find her in time, and what exactly does Hope have planned?
Viewers will no doubt question if she's about to become a villain like her dad, following a string of alarming incidents with the character.
From breaking her sister's arm to setting fire to a flat, Hope's behaviour has sparked concern for some time.
But will Hope's loved ones stop her from doing anything she may end up regretting?
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
