Corrie blunder mocked by Phillip Schofield as police e-fit is 'worst he's ever seen'

Coronation Street airs big scenes this week, as the ITV soap airs a killer confession following a character possibly being identified by a police e-fit.

But the e-fit in question has led to bemusement, over how it could possibly be linked to the character who police officer Craig Tinker believes it looks like.

On This Morning on Tuesday, soap writer Sharon Marshall shared a clip from Corrie to air this week, of the moment Faye Windass confesses to her involvement in Ted's death.

She does this to boyfriend Craig, fearing Emma Brooker will be framed for her crime due to an e-fit of a woman spotted at Ted's flat before his death.

But Sharon confessed on This Morning that there was no need for her to do this, despite Craig's claims the e-fit looked like Emma.

On showing the e-fit, she and host Phillip Schofield were baffled and amused, as they realised the e-fit looked nothing like the character it was meant to.

Phil said it was "the worst he'd ever seen" as Sharon laughed, and claimed Faye's confession was wasted as the police would never have linked it to Emma.

After airing Faye's confession, Sharon said: "You see, I'm not convinced she needed that confession. She's actually confessing because she's seen the e-fit issue of the girl they saw in the flat. It's not really Emma is it..."

Amused, Phil replied: "That has got to be the worst e-fit I have ever seen in my life. It looks like someone from outer space."

Rochelle apologised as she roared with laughter, before Sharon admitted: "They could have got away with that."

Phil added: "It's from Star Trek," as Sharon joked: "Nope, no, haven't seen her, no idea who that is. I think that would have been an acceptable answer there."

Rochelle concluded: "Well, not where I saw that going, that's for sure."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
