Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver has apologised for her naturally frosty facial expression in a comical podcast chat, explaining that she has a "resting b***h face." The actress, who has played curmudgeon Eileen Grimshaw on the ITV soap since 2000, lifted the lid to her I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! co-star Seann Walsh on his podcast What’s Upset You Now? about the things that infuriate people.
Sue, who was a popular matriarch figure to her jungle mates on the ITV reality show at the end of last year, said her facial expression doesn’t reflect how jolly she’s feeling, but she can't help it. "I’m really sorry if it offends you, but there’s not much I can do about that," she said.
She explained: "I've got one of those, if I see somebody, and I'm trying to remain really neutral with my expression, it's almost impossble. You cam see the corners of my lip turning down in absolute disgust."

"I've got one of those resting b***h faces. That's another thing that annoys me, when people say 'come on, give us a smile' I say 'I'm smiling on the inside.'
"My mouth just doesn't turn naturally upwards. Sometimes I’ve caught sight of myself in a shop mirror and I’ve thought 'Oh my Lord, I look miserable.' I’m quite happy and jolly inside. My mouth does not give that off."
Sue recently shared a beaming photo of herself with another I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here! pal, her 'jungle husband' Mike Tindall. "Gorgeous sneaky lunch with one of my husbands - sorry to my other ones, your time will come!" she joked as she shared a smiling photo on her Instagram.
The reunion came after Sue revealed her career away from appearing in Corrie as Eileen. Speaking in the new edition of Prima magazine, she said: "It might surprise people to know that I’m also a trained psychotherapist.
"It all started when I had therapy myself 10 years ago and it transformed my life. I developed a fascination with it. It was my therapist who said, ‘I think you should train – you’d be good at this.’ I studied for three years, but I had to defer my fourth year as it coincided with Corrie’s Pat Phelan storyline [which saw Eileen marry the soap villain].
"There was no way I could do my job and also write my thesis at the same time. I’m officially allowed to practise as a psychotherapist now, but I’d still love to go back and complete my fourth year one day.”
Back in October, in a hilarious Corrie storyline grumpy Eileen had a personality change after taking a tumble while lugging pumpkins down the cobbles. She collided with her arch-nemesis Gail Rodwell, tripped over one of the dropped pumpkins and after being knocked out, she came round as a smiley Eileen with a new sunny disposition.
