Coronation Street viewers witnessed Emma Brooker leave Weatherfield for good during the latest episode of the ITV soap on Friday.
The character departed for a new life in Australia with new boyfriend Jon, in what was a happy ending for the fan favourite.
Alexandra Mardell quit the show earlier this year, and recently teased she may end up on the run or in prison thanks to her dark secret.
In January, she and Faye Windass were in a car when Faye accidentally ran over an elderly man named Ted.
Ted later died as a result the injuries he suffered, and the girls kept their involvement a secret.
But when Emma started dating Ted's grandson Jon, the truth soon came out leaving him devastated.
Luckily the pair patched things up, and he told Emma he would not be telling the police about what happened to Ted.
On Friday, he asked Emma once again to move with him to Australia, but this time asked her to go with him there and then.
Jon was preparing to travel to the country with Emma set to join later, but he urged her to consider going with them straight away and she agreed.
Her family were stunned by the sudden news, and her dad Steve McDonald forbid her from moving away.
But after a moving heart-to-heart, he realised that this was what Emma wanted, and he was happy to let her go.
Her family gathered outside in the street to wave her off, as Emma and Jon got into a taxi and headed out of Weatherfield for good.
Just before this, Emma made up with Faye and the pair had an emotional goodbye after months of hell for them both.
Emma said her goodbyes to everyone, including her pal Gemma, and took one last look at the cobbles before heading off for her new start.
