Coronavirus cases are dropping in every area of the Bristol region for another consecutive day. It's a positive sign in the battle against Covid-19 as daily positive tests drop below 1,000 in the region.
Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire all reported lower figures than yesterday. Figures are now equivalent to those reported at the start of December before the Omicron wave hit.
Coronavirus cases in the UK also fell to their lowest point since November 30, 2021. Only 41,270 cases were confirmed today, a drop on yesterday's figure of 46,025 cases.

Two new deaths were reported within the Bristol region in the past 24 hours. One was reported in Bristol, taking the total to 663 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic. The other death was reported in North Somerset, taking the total to 410 deaths.
Bristol still recorded the most new cases today with a further 359 confirmed in the city. South Gloucestershire followed with 197 new cases in the past 24 hours.
North Somerset reported 141 new cases while in Bath and North East Somerset there were 128 new positive tests reported.

Bath and North East Somerset: 48,211 (+128)
Bristol: 136,813 (+359)
- North Somerset: 52,133 (+141)
- South Gloucestershire: 77,093 (+197)
