Coronation Street viewers are hoping newcomer Esther has a permanent role on the show.
Esther and her husband Mike joined the show shortly after Summer Spellman fell pregnant. The three struck a deal that Summer would act as a surrogate mother for them but the troubled teenager failed to mention she suffered a miscarriage several months ago.
The drama came to a head this week after Summer discovered Mike already had a secret son from a past relationship and she was going to use this as ammunition to break off their deal, telling Esther about her husband's lies in the process.

In an attempt to keep his past hidden, Mike locked the diabetic teen in his bedroom but she eventually passed out from a lack of insulin. Esther, who was out of the house at the time of their confrontation, returned home to discover Summer unconscious and immediately rang an ambulance.
The teenager was taken to the hospital where she explained the situation to her family and the police. Once she got the all-clear in tonight's episode, she returned home but viewers were shocked to see Esther on the couch next to her supplying comfort.
The wannabe mother revealed she ended her relationship with Mike after discovering his harrowing actions which Summer's family appeared to be relieved about. They trusted Esther had nothing to do with the situation which suggested to viewers her time on the show may not be close to ending.
One fan said: "I hope Esther stays on the show now. She came good in the end seeing Mike for who he really is and defending Summer." Another added: "Esther might be staying in #corrie then."
Whilst a third said: "Yes! Esther has split up evil manipulator Mike." A final added: "She’s split up with Mike, yes Esther."
Esther reassured Summer she had permanently ended things with Mike and that she had no idea the lengths he would go to keep his lies under wraps. The teenager accepted the seemingly genuine apology but said she didn't know what to do moving forward.
