Coronation Street has undergone a transformation this spooky season and turned into Horror-nation Street for special fan tours in October.

With Halloween around the corner, visitors can revisit ghosts of storylines past as they explore over 60 years of the cobbles’ worst villains.

Promising a set makeover to give guests an eerie experience, guides will share spooky stories and secrets from the darker side of the street during the 90-minute guided tour.

On selected dates, there will also be a ghoulish surprise in store from a notorious villain of storylines past when they book one of the Spooky Star Tours.

Those visitors will have full access to the Horror-Nation Street Tour and have the chance to meet and greet a mystery cast member.

The soap’s tour website says: “As darkness comes, the notorious past of Coronation Street comes to life as you enter Horror-Nation Street: The Tour!

The ITV soap is getting a spooky makeover for their extra special tours (themancphotographer.co.uk)

“Throughout October, revisit ghosts of storylines past in a special edition tour taking you on over 60 years of villains, death and destruction on the nation’s favourite street.

“The street will receive a spooky makeover complete with pumpkins and eerie lighting, plus there’ll be trick or treating and other spook-tacular treats in store.”

Coronation Street: The Tour has also uncovered the most popular baddies to ever grace Weatherfield, with fans voting the infamous Richard Hillman as the ultimate villain of the show.

Hillman was the supposed family man with a secret homicidal streak, who was suffering a financial crisis unbeknown to his then wife Gail Platt.

However, he reached a bitter end after a tyrannical reign of extortion in 2003.

After going into hiding for a few weeks, he abducted the Platts and drove them into the canal in a suicide bid, though all except him were rescued.

Horror-Nation Street Tours are available from £28 per adult, while Spooktacular Star Tours are priced at £40 per adult.
