The daughter of a Coronation Street star will be rocking up on Love Island when it kicks off next month.
Molly Marsh's mum Janet, starred in the ITV soap three times playing a variety of medical roles.
Speaking about going on the ITV2 dating show, her daughter, 24, told ITV : "I think it’s ideal timing and the perfect way to find someone.
"I don’t go out and party and I don’t use dating apps, I’m actually quite old-fashioned, so there’s no better way to meet someone than by going into a Villa in the sun with the potential ‘one’ in there.
"With my job being in social media, I’ve had some amazing opportunities to go on press trips and I’ve actually been out to the Love Island Villas in Mallorca and South Africa."
A source told The Sun Molly was ‘scouted after visiting the villa in South Africa earlier this year’.
"She was on the tour as an invited guest when she caught the eyes of producers. Molly made it clear she would love to be a part of Love Island, and she was told to audition,’ they explained."
Her mum Janet first starred in Corrie in 2005 as a nurse, before playing a receptionist at the Scott-Roe Clinic in March 2008.
The last time the actress popped up on the cobbles was in 2009 as an ITU nurse.
Her other credits include roles in Where The Heart Is, Bodies, In The Dark, Love, Lies and Records, Still Open All Hours and the short film Cerulean.
Molly, meanwhile, is a performer in her own right travelled the country appearing in pantos including Oliver! and Sleeping Beauty.
She is also an influencer on Instagram, boasting 27,000 followers (as of May 2023) on her popular handle @mollygracemarsh.
Molly is one of three Love Island Summer 2023 contestants to be confirmed.
Beautician Ruchee Gurung has become the first Islander to be announced.
Asked why she wants to join the show, the 24-year-old from Sutton said: "I’m single and looking for love, and it’s the perfect opportunity for me to find someone. I’m a relationship kind of girl, but so far it’s not worked out for me.
"So I’m looking forward to hopefully finding the right person in the Villa."
Semi-professional footballer Tyrique is also hoping to find love this summer.
Asked what he'll bring to the villa, he said: "I’ll bring vibes, confidence, good energy and honesty. I don’t sit on the fence, if I have an opinion I will speak up. I’m also not afraid to go after what I want."
