Coronation Street star Jane Hazlegrove's life with 'beautiful' soap actress wife

Coronation Street star Jane Hazlegrove is best known as Bernie Winter on the long-running ITV show, but her life off the cobbles is a world away from Weatherfield.

After arriving on cobbled streets as Gemma Winter's mum three years ago, she managed to capture the attention of viewers everywhere.

In the show, her character's witty with one-liners and has twins Paul and Gemma. She's also the grandmother of her daughter's quadruplets.

Meanwhile, in real life, things are a lot more simple as she has been married since 2015.

The 54-year-old tied the knot with fellow soap actress Isobel Middleton, who she previously called 'beautiful' on a talk show.

She appeared on Lorraine and said: "We’ve not [worked alongside each other], which is probably why we’re still together.

"She’s sensational, a really beautiful woman. I am very blessed," she said on the much-loved programme."

Isobel has appeared in EastEnders as Sadie in 2002, in Family Affairs as DC Jenkin in 2005, in The Bill as various characters between 1995 - 2006, and in Emmerdale as several characters between 2014 and 2020.

In 2014, she showed up in the Emmerdale village as Doctor Lane. Four years later, she played the role of a prosecution barrister.

In 2020, she took on the role of Jean Rawson.

Most recently, she appeared in her wife's show, Corrie, as Persephone Braxton in 2022.

Isobel is also a voiceover artist, appearing in the Harry Potter videogames, and writer.

Meanwhile, when it was revealed Jane was up for Best Comedy Performance at the British Soap Awards, Isobel tweeted her praise.

"Very proud that my sublimely talented & hilarious wife has been nominated for Best Comedy Performance at the #soapawards2022," she said.

Earlier this year, Jane wrote about her love for Pride and the strength it gives people.

"Living in London and becoming confident in who I was, Pride was something I looked forward to as an opportunity to party with my friends, both gay and straight, but also to show solidarity with my tribe," she wrote for Metro.co.uk.

"The march was always important and galvanised us to remain proud of who we were, sometimes in the face of abuse and hostility, but it always ended with a rally where campaigners inspired us to persist in our quest for equality and acceptance and was followed by a festival of all things fabulous."
