Coronation Street star hints she could be next to die in new Stephen murder plot

Coronation Street star Tina O'Brien has teased her character could be the next to be killed by Stephen Reid.

Tina plays Sarah Platt on the ITV soap, who is currently doing business with her uncle Stephen and friend Michael after deciding to part ways from Carla and the Underworld factory. The actress thinks Sarah will be horrified when she finds out about Stephen having murdered Leo and his dad Teddy - and has also revealed she could be next.

Stephen killed Leo first, pushing him off the roof, before he later murdered his father Teddy after realising Stephen had something to do with his son's disappearance, despite claims he had moved to Canada.

Discussing how Sarah would react to the world finding out the truth about Stephen, she told Inside Soap: "Oh, she’d be devastated. Sarah looks up to him; he gave her an opportunity and a career in Milan and she listens to his advice. She's oblivious."

And Tina has teased that Sarah could be the next to be murdered by Stephen.

She explained: "I don’t think anybody is safe. If he winks at me funny, I’m going to panic and start running from the building! Sarah is one of the closest people to him, so if she finds out, she might be the next one to go."

Actor Todd Boyce previously revealed the blood "drained from his face" when he found out he was going to be a murderer.

Speaking about the role, he said: "In March, the very start of May, Iain McLeod and I, we sat down on a Zoom and I had no clue I was going to be a murderer. There was a nice period of time that they checked my availability for and I think the blood probably drained from my face when he said, 'You are going to be a murderer'.

"And then I thought, 'Oh my god I am going to be a baddy', then the blood came back to my face and I thought this is going to be amazing, and he kindly wanted to see if that was ok with me."

Todd says the second murder came sooner than he expected - and hinted there could be more to come.

He added: "Then he said there will be another murder at some point and that has come sooner than I expected. I have stopped asking about what is going to happen to me because it is exciting not knowing actually, it's through the grapevine."
