Coronation Street star Channique Sterling-Brown has revealed her link to the soap's latest newcomer after fans declared him the 'best part' of the episode. During Monday night's trip to the cobbles (July 3), viewers saw a chilli eating competition take place at the Bistro.
It was an idea from Bernie Winter and Gemma Brown in a bid to raise funds for the equipment Paul Foreman will need as his Motor Neurone Disease progresses. Dev Alahan, Chesney Brown and Shona Platt all took on the eating challenge while Gemma reminded everyone to give generously.
At the end of the night, Bernie counted the money raised and handed Paul £800 which left him touched by the generosity of his friends and neighbours. But once back at the flat, Bernie and Paul's partner Billy Mayhew argued over religion versus crystals as while Billy suggested Paul be baptised, Bernie has been keen to help her son with her alternative methods.

But after asserting that their constant interference isn’t helpful, Paul stormed out. Having escaped to a hotel bar, Paul spotted Zac, a blast from his past, and offered to buy him a drink. As they headed up to a room, Paul soon passed out drunk before later waiting up with a monumental hangover. Reaching for his jacket, he quickly realised with horror that Zac had stolen the £800 charity money
Following the scenes, Channique, who plays Dee-Dee Bailey in Corrie, took to social media as she revealed that the guy playing Zac, Jordan Tweddle, is actually one of her good friends.
"Babes first ep," she typed on her Instagram Story as she filmed a giant screen showing the latest episode of the ITV soap before panning the camera to show Jordan sat the other side of the room having just watched himself on-screen. As the theme tune played into the break, Channique and their other pals cheered as Jordan laughed and hid his face.
She then posted multiple pictures of them both as she beamed over her friend's latest success. "LOVE it when your friends from life join the cobbles!" she wrote alongside a string of red hearts before tagging Jordan. And suggesting it wasn't a one-off appearance, she added: "Who caught Zac's first ep," alongside the eyes emoji.
Meanwhile, Corrie viewers were taking to social media to have their say over Jordan's first appearance in the soap - or should we say Zac's. @darrennpassey tweeted: "Hopefully after last night's #corrie there’s more coming up with Zac. great stuff from @jordan_tweddle."
@j11_lee cheekily posted: "Oh hello Zac #Corrie," with the eyes emojis. @DavidMackayy added: "Best part of tonight’s #corrie," alongside three different stills of Jordan from his debut episode as Zac.
