Coronation Street spoilers: Summer Spellman lies to Billy as she covers up health diagnosis

Summer Spellman becomes entangled in even more lies next week on Coronation Street as she covers up her health diagnosis at the hospital.

Tonight, Summer - played by Harriet Bibby - discovers her boyfriend Aaron's own heartbreaking secret as she discovers him nursing a fat lip.

When she quizzes him about his injury, he ends up snapping at her, though later apologises and reveals that it was his alcoholic dad who had hurt him.

On Friday, Summer collapses just as she and Aaron are about to go on their holiday, throwing Aaron into a panic.

After she regains consciousness, Summer admits that she accidentally forgot to take her insulin and the pair head back from the tram station.

Once they get back to the flat, Aaron has a look in Summer's bag and is shocked at what he finds...

Next week, Summer attends her appointment with the diabetic nurse, who suggests that a flash monitor might be helpful, which Aaron agrees with.

According to NHS England, a flash monitor uses a sensor that is placed on the back of the upper arm and worn externally by the user, allowing glucose information to be monitored using a mobile app.

Later, Summer lies to Billy as she says that she doesn't qualify for a flash monitor, but Aaron isn't having any of it.

Instead, he urges Billy to call the hospital to double check what Summer has said.

The next day, Billy and Summer head to the Bistro for Gemma and Paul's birthday celebrations. However, Summer is put off when she notices Aaron staring her.

He assures Summer that he wasn't checking up on her and she resolves to make it up to Aaron for ruining their holiday together.
