Coronation Street is lining up worrying scenes next week, as new spoilers confirm a fire leaves one character in danger.
Aaron Sandford is alarmed to discover his father has been rushed to hospital after his house goes up in flames.
The teenager, who is dating Summer Spellman, has been distant with Eric since he revealed how his alcoholic father was violent towards him.
Refusing to see him, Aaron is relieved next week when Billy and Todd agree to visit Eric to check on him so that he doesn't have to.
Aaron is bombarded with angry text messages from his dad who lashes out at him.
Summer fears what Eric will do to Aaron if he returns home, and soon Billy and Todd return from their visit and they report back that he was drunk and angry.
This stops Aaron from going to see him - only for disaster to strike.
Later in the day, the police show up at Summer's flat and inform a devastated Aaron that there's been a fire at his home.
His injured father is rushed to hospital where he remains unconscious initially.
When he eventually wakes up, teen Aaron is left heartbroken when Eric groggily wishes he hadn’t survived the fire.
Aaron blames himself for ignoring his messages and leaving him unsupervised, believing if he had been at home it would never have happened.
Summer begs Aaron to let her share his burden, but her boyfriend refuses to open up about his heartache.
Instead, the character leaves his partner heartbroken when he tells her he has to focus on his dad, and leaves.
Summer is crushed, but will Aaron change his mind and seek support from her?
It was only recently that Summer learned the horrifying truth that Aaron was beaten up by his dad, and that it had happened several times before.
