Coronation Street is going to be drama packed this week as Amy Barlow faces a fresh setback as she continues to risk a court appearance after outing Aaron Sandford as a rapist.
Last month, Amy was accused of harassment after spotting Aaron's old flame Mia at the garage, and told her he raped her.
She then shared what happened to her online and Aaron's dad, Eric, sprung into action and appeared at 1 Coronation Street and announced that he was suing Amy for libel. With Tracy and Steve McDonald behind her, they decided not to issue a retraction to satisfy Eric's plans to sue.
Next week, Amy says that she could use her inheritance from Deirdre to fund her legal fees, but Steve is adamant that he and Tracy will find the money to pay the fees.
Steve then has an idea of selling the flower shop flat. Amy feels really bad knowing that Billy, Paul and Summer will lose their home if he does that.
Going through the details of the libel case with Adam, Amy then worries that this case could result in her family losing everything.
Elsewhere, Summer has a go at Aaron, saying that because of his failure to admit the truth, Amy and her family are risking everything.
Later, Amy is really concerned about Mary losing her job and Billy, Paul and Summer being made homeless. Abi’s troubled to hear that Steve and Tracy are selling up to do battle with Aaron.
Following a meeting with their solicitor, a fired-up Eric tells Aaron that Amy’s a liar, they’re going to prove it in court. However, after speaking with Maria, Amy reveals that she’s going to write a retraction as too many people are suffering because of the case.
Amy shows Aaron what she's written but he tells her that it doesn’t make sense, Amy is furious and tells him it’s hard to make sense of a pack of lies and if he doesn’t like it, he should write it himself and she’ll sign it. As he struggles to write the retraction, Aaron goes back over later on that night.
Elsewhere, Sarah tells her grandmother Audrey how she loves Adam and threw it away for a stupid fling. Audrey says she should voice how she feels.
Taking on her advice, Sarah begs Adam to give her another chance but he refuses and Sarah turns the tables, suggesting he’s partially to blame as he was always at work.
Adam is raging about it but then Ken likens their marriage to that of his own to Deirdre and urges him not to throw in the towel.
Adam and Sarah later agree to meet for lunch but Sarah then has to cancel due to work, which reignites Adam's jealousy as he tells her he doesn’t believe she had to work and wonders if she had lunch with someone else behind his back.
Leanne also tells Nick that Damon has to go after catching him rowing with Sarah in front of the customers.
Brian arrives late for work and reveals that he was up late playing Italian card games with Isabella and Rita disapproves.
Isabella corners Rita, telling her she’s too old to work and Brian needs a younger assistant. Her dislike for Isabella is evident, Rita quits her job.
